Guidelines for Quran Teachers

Taking Profile Images

A professional and clear profile image is essential for making a strong first impression on students and parents. Follow these guidelines to ensure your profile image meets the standards of the Online Quran Institution. By following these guidelines, you can create a professional, respectful, and appealing profile that reflects your dedication as an online Quran teacher.

1. Image Quality & Resolution

  • Use a high-quality camera (smart phone with at least 8MP or a professional camera).
  • Image resolution should be at least 500x500 pixels to avoid blurriness.
  • Ensure the image is well-lit and clear.

2. Background & Lighting

  • Choose a clean, neutral, and distraction-free background (plain white or light-colored walls).
  • Avoid cluttered or overly decorative backgrounds.
  • Use natural lighting or soft, even artificial light (avoid harsh shadows).
  • Do not take photos in dim lighting or against a very bright background.

3. Dress Code & Appearance

  • Wear modest and professional attire, reflecting the values of Quranic teachings.
  • For male teachers: Wear a simple Islamic cap (optional) and a well-ironed shirt or traditional attire.
  • For female teachers: Wear a hijab or abaya in a neutral or solid color.
  • Keep facial expressions warm and friendly—a light smile is encouraged.

4. Pose & Framing

  • The photo should be a headshot (from shoulders up) with a straight, relaxed posture.
  • Look directly at the camera with a neutral or friendly expression.
  • The face should be centered in the image.
  • Keep your head upright and do not tilt too much.

5. Image Format & Size

  • Save the image in JPEG or PNG format.
  • File size should not exceed 2MB for easy uploading.
  • Keep the image cropped to a square (1:1 ratio) for best display.

6. Avoid Common Mistakes

  • Do not use selfies or low-quality, pixelated images.
  • Avoid group photos—the image should include only you.
  • Do not use filters or excessive editing that change your appearance unnaturally.
  • Avoid wearing bright, flashy colors or busy patterns.
  • Do not take photos too close (face should not be cropped) or too far away (full body shots are unnecessary).

7. Submission Guidelines

  • Name your file in a professional format: First Name_Last Name_Profile.jpg
  • Upload your image in the Online  Registration Link , or send it via email as per the instructions provided.
  • Ensure the image is updated if there are any major changes in your appearance (e.g., new glasses, beard growth, or hijab style change).
